Sneak Peek...

A couple weeks ago, I was asked to put together a Summer Events Guide to Style Look Book & I wanted to give you all a sneak peek of one of the styles, before it hits the blogosphere...

This look is for a casual dinner party.  High waisted, wide legged, trouser pant, in a light beige...

With a sheer, coral, tank...

Tied together with a woven, mahogany, skinny belt...

Adorned with a statement necklace...

And a great pair of mahogany wedges with tiny peep toe...

Gather your belongings in a kelly green, leather wristlet...

And don't forget to paint your nails in, Cafe Forgot, a creamy cappuccino color...

...& Put it all together...

As the week goes on, I will share a couple more of the styles for different summer events!

Happy Friday...

Happy Friday everyone!! We have been having some awesome weather here in mn... up until yesterday... & now it is cold & rainy. BUT the good news is, I have talked to lots of people that are 'okay' with the shift in weather for awhile... in order to be productive with no distractions (i.e.. sunshine)!!  So whether your day is overcast or the sun is beaming, enjoy it & be fruitful!

Pin Thin Pleats...

One trend to watch for Spring has been skinny thin pleats silk or chiffon skirts.  Whether maxi length or a shorter style, this style has made it through decades of fashion trends...

High waisted, pin thin pleats, in neutral color tones keep the style modern with a classic flair...

Or for a more 'day-wear' look, drop the hemline a bit & pair with a silk blouse...

I will be honest, there is one part of this trend that I have been avoiding for months, ever since it first hit the runway... & that is the length of this hemline...

It is a very popular trend for Spring, in fabrics & styles other than silk pleats, & to be completely honest, I am not quite sure how I feel about it?  The length seems rather unflattering & leaves me unsettled.  I want to be like, "ooo cute skirt, lets hem it up a couple inches! Or, ooo cute skirt, I wish it were a couple inches longer!"  I am trying to warm up to the trendy length...

This style of pin thin pleats goes great with dresses too...

If the dress has full body pleats, break up the fabric with a skinny belt adorned to your waist to give your body the curve it deserves...

What do you think about pin thin pleats? Leave them for decades ago or modernize them for today?

Yep... I'm an Aries...

Naturally, a pioneer provided the 'Ram' as my astrological symbol, I like to lead & take life 'Head On' as an 'Independent' & 'Energetic' woman!! I feel as if this upcoming year is going to be nothing short of amazing...

A good friend asked what I would like for my birthday...

...& I am so unbelievably thankful for the amazing people in my life! There is absolutely nothing that I want or need...

... ok, maybe just one of these...

Harmonizing Masculine & Feminine...

One of my favorite style techniques is combining extreme features, subtly.  I love being able to intermix attributes together, that you normally wouldn't imagine would collaborate together, yet done in a very serene way.  For instance, a soft pale pink integrated with a polished ebony...

I love the way those 2 colors play off one another in harmony.  Keeps living spaces proportionate, while adding a touch of enticement...

The bedroom is one of the most difficult places for so many to decorate, without feeling each significant other losing their identity.  A subtle mix of masculine & feminine features (or in this case, colors) allow a  bedroom to coexist...

Pastels with a rose tint remain updated with ebony components.  The space feels updated rather than old fashioned, & alluring rather than simply delicate...

Perfect touch of masculine & feminine in an entry way space...

These color combinations do not need to reside strictly within the house either!  Play around with the 2 color palettes & find unique shades that work for you.  When you find the colors that you enjoy, next think texture.  Mix different masculine textures with subtle feminine...

... & you will have something as amazing as this!  Quintessential harmonizing of masculine & feminine features...

Fashion Icon: Grace Kelly...

I read this somewhere & agreed 100% percent...
"It's time to touch back to our style roots & stop idolizing the cast of the Jersey Shore..."

So true! In so many ways!  My ultimate favorite Fashion Icon has been Grace Kelly.  Her elegance mixed with alluring poise will undoubtedly be prevalent for years to come.  Her style is refined & graceful with a touch of cheeky-ness!

One of my most favorite style that is still around thanks to so many of our earlier fashion icons is the retro bikini!  The style remains playful, sexy, & forever distinct...

Another look I am loving is the Full Matte Red Lip...

... And without a doubt, sophisticated Pastels...

Who are your fashion Icons?

Another inquiry I received was pertaining specifically what to wear heels like these with?  My suggestions are to always, always, always keep it simple!  In order for this pattern to not look tacky, keep the rest of your outfit downplayed with neutral colors & subtle fabrics.
