Christmas Themed DIY...

While most are busy focused on handing candy out to trick-or-treaters & some are focused on what table deco to use for Thanksgiving, I am whole heartedly enamored with Christmas.  My older sister & I love Christmas & find absolutely nothing wrong with setting up & celebrating Christmas 2 whole months prior to the big day!

Which is why I have Christmas deco already on the brain...

... call me crazy, but it is our ritual to start the Christmas tunes the day after Halloween to start the spirit early on in the season...

This year, I am going to attempt a Christmas themed DIY every week leading up to December 25th...

... & to start, I have dying to try an Over-the-Top Christmas wreath!  Here are my favorite that I am drawing inspiration from:

1. Bold, Large, Obnoxious Features....

2. Bright & Sparkly...

3. Moss & Bows...

So as I complete my wreath, I will be sure to upload the step by step process that I took so you too can make your own wreath, but with your favorite holiday features!

I would love to know what your favorite holiday DIY projects are!!??

Street Style: Office Chic...

To all my working women out there... this is the blog post for you!!  I have gotten countless emails asking about fall trends for the workplace.  Here are my 5 favorite fall trends that are perfect for the professional lady...

1. Wool Blazer
The perfect fall accessory- easy to dress up for work & also multi-versatile for those casual weekend errands.  My suggestion for this trend is: have it tailored!  Very rarely, unless you're barbie do coats & jackets fit us perfectly! Have your blazer tailored & taken in to fit your body comfortably & perfectly & I promise this will change the overall look of the jacket...

Here are my favorite colors & styles... (Please comment below or email me for brands/prices)

2. The Pussy Blouse
I am slightly obsessing over this style of blouse because it is so classically chic!  Sophisticated with the high neckline & oversized bow, yet sexy in silk.  Perfect paired under your wool blazer or even alone with a pencil skirt. Invest in this gem...

Here are my favorite oversized bow styles...

3. Maroon Bottoms
Hot off the runway- maroon is everywhere this fall!  In particular, I adore this color trend on the bottom.  Whether you find a pair of maroon tights, trousers, or skirt- pair the top with creme & simple accessories & you cannot go wrong.  If you dare- try a maroon lip as well...

Here are my favorite maroon items for your lower half...

4. Lace-Up Wedge Bootie
These have been my go-to shoe for fall & I love them!  Not only are they comfortable, but they are a fun twist on fall style when you typically only see tall boots this time of year.  Opt for lace up, rather than zip up, to keep your work attire looking crisp & professional.  Perfect with an opaque pair of tights or even a wide leg trouser...

Here are my favorite wedged booties... (including some fun oxfords too!)

5. Chocolate Tortoise Watch
...with Gold Features!! I am a watch whore lover!! I love my watches & I think they complete a look, especially a professional look.  I was big into the natural tortoise shell this summer & now I am loving this chocolate version for the autumn season...

Here are my favorite oversized chocolate watches...

The Age Old Decorating Question: Fireplace Styling...

One of my most captivating girlfriends, has purchased her first home!  While I was so excited to hear about her most recent big news, we both were thrilled at the opportunity to decorate a blank canvas.  As many of you know, styling & decorating a house takes a lot of time & money to turn it into a home.  Lucky for her, she has a beautiful family for inspiration & within no time we will turn her new place into a home with a few intimate touches!

While looking through some pictures of her new house, I came across an interesting layout for what would be their family room- included with a fireplace & mantle.

The age old question- What to put above the fireplace?
The 3 most common items are: Mirrors, Televisions, & Art.  The key to answering this question for yourself is, "What is the main purpose of this room?"

Mirrors are often used to make a space look larger than it actually is...

When placed above a fireplace, rarely are they actually used for looking at yourself...

If you feel the need to make your space look larger or simply find a mirror with a beautiful frame, then I believe a mirror is a perfectly suitable option...

If your fireplace & mantle are more included within a gathering room, sometimes a flat screen television mounted above, fits perfectly in the setting...

While it is intended to be a comfortable gathering room, amenities like a television would be a realistic addition to the space...

The best part about having a television above your fireplace & mantle is that it is a multi-versatile room still.  While it may just be you & your family cuddling up to a movie one night or quite possibly turned off with themed decorations placed around it for an fun event on another night...

Lastly, the third most common attribute place above a fireplace & mantle would be, art.  Sometimes intended to be a large focal point of the overall room...

Or also often decorated with photos of friends & family to keep the room quaint & personalized...

Yet, often the art is simply garnished within the color palette of the overall room...

While mirrors, televisions, & art are all fabulous ideas for sprucing up that hard-to-deco area, here are a few fun new ideas to change it up a bit...

Which style of fireplace/mantle decorating do you guys prefer?

Street Style Watch: Jen Aniston...

If you haven't seen the recent addition of Elle Magazine, then be prepared to crap your pants, I mean, drool all over your macbook, I mean, be utterly speechless by how absolutely gorgeous Jennifer Aniston looks! If this doesn't scream "Ef you Brad & Angie" then I'm not sure that she'll ever get her point across.  Regardless, she looks unbelievable & completely flawless...

After seeing this cover, it got me to thinking more about Jennifer Aniston's street style.  Unless she is on the cover of a magazine or red carpet, he look is often simple combined with a few staple items...

It's clear that Jen dresses for comfort rather than flashy, yet she does it in a put-together-kind-of-way...
